Booking

How do I book a stay at Urban Garden Suites?

Check our availability calendar and select your travel dates. You can then send a booking request through the site. Once the booking is confirmed, we will send you all the information you need for your stay.

Is there a minimum stay?

Minimum stay requirements may vary depending on the season and dates selected. The booking page will show the minimum stay for your requested dates. If your dates are close to the minimum stay, feel free to send us a message — we may be able to adjust it to accommodate you.

Payment

How do I pay for my booking?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe using a credit card. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also available. Before arrival, guests are asked to complete a short check-in form and provide valid identification. This helps prevent fraud and ensures a secure booking process.

Check-in / Check-out

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Because we often have guests arriving the same day, we are usually unable to offer late check-outs, especially with short notice.

How do I check in?

Check-in instructions, including the door access code, will be sent 24 hours before your arrival. These instructions include directions, parking details, and everything you need for a smooth self check-in. The suite uses a keypad entry for convenient self check-in.

Parking

Is parking available?

Yes. Guests can park in the carport and driveway. Typically up to three standard-sized vehicles can fit in the driveway and carport combined. Larger or longer vehicles can park on the street. The carport has a height clearance of 8 feet.

Pets

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, we welcome up to two medium-sized dogs (maximum 30 kg each). We do not allow other types of pets. Dogs should not be left alone in the suite unless they are comfortably crated.

Is there an extra fee for pets?

Yes. We charge a $95 pet fee.

Amenities

Does the suite have a kitchen?

Yes. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, cookware, dishes, and basic kitchen tools so you can easily prepare meals during your stay.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi (250 Mbps) is included, and the network information is provided inside the suite.

Is there laundry?

Yes. The laundry room is located off the carport and is shared with us, your hosts. We provide basic laundry supplies for short-term guests.

House Rules

Is smoking allowed?

No. Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside the suite. Guests may smoke in the carport or patio area and extinguish cigarette butts in the coffee can with sand.

Are parties or events allowed?

No. Urban Garden Suites is a quiet guest suite and is not suitable for parties or events.

How many guests can stay in the suite?

The suite can accommodate up to 6 registered guests. Only registered guests may stay overnight.

Can we have visitors during our stay?

Registered guests are welcome to have occasional visitors during the day. Overnight stays are limited to the number of guests included in your reservation. If you are expecting visitors, please let us know in advance.

Location / Getting Around

Where are you located?

We are located in Nanaimo, BC, near Westwood Lake. Our location provides convenient access to the Nanaimo Parkway (Highway 19), making it easy to reach many areas of the city.

Do I need a car?

A car is helpful for exploring Nanaimo and Vancouver Island, though some amenities and attractions can also be reached by taxi or rideshare. A bus stop for Route #5 is a 3-minute walk away and provides service to Vancouver Island University and other parts of Nanaimo.
